Subsidiary Forums

World Investment Forum (WIF), which was established in 2016, strives to promote sustainable regional development in developing countries with a focus on development planning and management in the context of globalization and decentralization trends, and the growing concern towards global Financial Circes and their impacts.

 1. Background

World Investment Forum (WIF), which was established in 2016, strives to promote sustainable regional development in developing countries with a focus on development planning and management in the context of globalization and decentralization trends, and the growing concern towards global Financial Circes and their impacts.

The WIF's mission is to assist developing countries in their transition to sustainable development path in line with the new Development Agenda - Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

For this reason WIF assist developing countries in promoting the exchange of data on research, practical experience, teaching, and other relevant subjects in regional investment development by Bilateral and Multilateral Subsidiary Regional Investment Forum.

The primary objectives of the SRI Forums are to:

(a) Facilitate high-level policy dialogues on Investment issues, challenges, and opportunities;

(b) Facilitate improved dialogue and cooperation with international organizations and communities for the materialization and implementation of Sustainable investment projects;

(c) Provide a strategic and knowledge platform for sharing experiences and disseminating among countries best practices, tools, technologies, and policy instruments on various aspects of the Investment;

(d) Provide a platform to develop multilayered networks of stakeholders such as national and local governments, academia, scientific and research community, private sector, media community, NGOs, and informal sector;

(e) generate regional consensus and understanding on the beneficial aspects of the Sustainable Investment in the context of achieving the SDGs, resource and energy efficiency, resource efficient economy, and climate change mitigation;
(f) Provide a platform for proliferation of national investment strategies; and

(g) Promote awareness among the general public on the beneficial aspects of the Sustainable Investment.

The SRI Forums around the world is composed of high-level representatives of Top companies in financial and investment fields (at least two country), representatives of international organizations (Just in case), representative of World Investment Forum as an observer, and an Expert Group (Optional) to share best practices, policies, tools, technologies, etc. in key thematic areas of the Investment and sustainability

The SRI Forums provides strategic feedback and necessary capacity-building support to the developing nations in their Reigns, including technical advisory support.


2. Role of the SRI Forums

The overall roles of the Experts are defined as follows:
o Provide overall advisory support/strategic guidance to member in their countries for promoting/strengthening the Sustainable investment policies and activities, under the overall framework of the World Forum (main role)

o Participate in the World Forum annual meeting and other relevant meetings and share best practices/experiences/tools/technologies in their field of expertise, and provide substantive technical input to policy consultations concerning various wealth management issues, including sustainability aspects (main role)

o Participate in national-level meetings/policy consultations/workshops as resource persons, as and when necessary (optional role).
